SmartFTP: The Comprehensive Software For Online File Transfer

SmartFTP is the most comprehensive software for downloading and uploading files using internet. It is useful for downloading audios, videos, documents and web pages from internet. I use this software for maintaining my website through FTP hoisting in the internet by uploading files without any difficulty. The FTP backup facility provided in this software is unique and fast. SmartFTP can be used like Windows Explorer in a local FTP network. Navigation is very easy and simple using this software. Folders and files are displayed in the same way as it is seen in all file managing software.



Get Everything In A Single Window

SmatFTP provides a simple and cute user interface. FTP hoisting and FTP backup can be done in the same single window. There are no commands hidden deep inside. The commands I want are easily accessible at the first glance in the main window. There is a Main Menu, but I prefer the Tool Bar. The commands in the tool bar are easily accessible and self-explanatory.



The remote servers being browsed is opened in the in main window as a tab. The local computer is opened by simply clicking the New Local Browser button in the tool bar. One thing I noticed here is that, this browser has all the functionalities of the Windows Explorer. The file commands, context menu, drag and drop and preview functions are available. I can navigate between servers in the same way I am using a Windows Explorer in my computer.



Opening a remote server is simpler. Just entering the name of the host or URL in a textbox provided in the toolbar opens it.



The FTP server is opened in a new tab. The contents of the FTP server are also displayed in the same way as the details of the local computers. All functions available in the local browser window are available here also.



The method of opening FTP servers and local computer makes SmartFTP more distinguishable. The remote server is opened in the left pane and local computer in the right pane. More than one FTP server can be opened in the same window. New servers are also added as a tab.



All common browsing commands seen in a browser is found the FTP client window. There are command buttons to Reconnect, Refresh, Stop, Back, Forward etc. This type of navigation facility makes browsing fun.



Drag And Drop For Online File Transfer

This is another exiting facility found in SmartFTP. A file is downloaded by just selecting it and dragging to the local computer window. FTP hoisting and uploading is done by dragging a file to the appropriate folder in the server window. The transfer process begins while I sit back and relax.



Online File Transfer Using Command Buttons

The command buttons found in the middle of server and local computer window is also useful for downloading and uploading files. The Synchronization and Visual compare buttons is very useful for FTP backup. I use the Visual compare command to find the files that are not stored in the FTP server. This saves a lot of time because I don’t have to upload all files in a folder for a FTP backup.



The three buttons Equal, Non Equal and Orphan select the files for uploading. This avoids the need for searching new or outdated files. I only have to drag and drop it to the server for backup or updating.



Conclusion

SmartFTP provides fast downloads and uploads from internet. The user interface of this software is the most attractive characteristic. I get the same easiness of using a file browser like Windows Explorer with SmartFTP. I haven’t seen the drag and drop facilities in many other FTP clients. There is actually nothing to know about the complexities of FTP or file transfers. I only have to know the FTP server address to keep moving.

InsightPoint

Presentations and Illustrations Using InsightPoint
Insight point can be used to create presentations, illustrations and graphic design. InsightPoint can be used to create slideshows in SVG format. SVG format has several advantages. It is basically text based and is in high quality vector graphics format. Time based animations can be created using InsightPoint. The resulting file will be of compact size and can work in all platforms.

Creating An Animated GIF File Using InsightPoint
Animated GIF files can be easily created using InsightPoint using Photos and images. Select File – New from the menu to start a new project. You can enter the size of the resolution, size of the page and background details here. You can also add a title page here.

The next dialog box is used to enter the details about the person and organization creating the document. The data in the title page can be changed using the Edit – Edit Meta Tag from the menu.

You can add photos and images to be shown in the GIF file from the File menu. You have to import the photos and images to your project. Select Import Files and Folders to add Photos and images into your project file. You can use the File Dialog Box to choose the files and folders.

The selected files and folders are added to the Project file. You can view and change the order of the images added project by changing the layers.

To create an animated GIF file select the Deploy Slide Show option from the File menu. You can create three types of presentations using InsightPoint. SVG Slide, HTML Slide and Animated GIF are three types of shows that can be created. Select the Animated GIF Show. You configure the animated frames in the dialog box displayed.

You change the border color and border patterns using the dialog box displayed when the Border Paint option is clicked.

After configuring the frames, you have to choose and file name and folding for Saving your GIF file. You can Preview the GIF file by choosing the Preview option in the file menu.

You can add predefined objects and text to your frames using the Tool Box. The added object can be Transformed using the object properties tools displayed at the top left corner of the main window. The status of each change can be seen in the status bar.

The created GIF file can be seen in the specified folder and can be viewed using any application that can view animated GIF files.
